The rules
Quickly discover the suspicious moles based on the ABCDE rule!
A like Asymmetry
Moles are typically uniform and symmetrical in shape. If you discover a mole that isn't round or oval and uniformly shaped but asymmetrical, a visit to a doctor is advisable.
B like Border
Benign moles usually have smooth, even and well-defined borders. If the borders look uneven, blurry, frayed or rugged, you should go and see a doctor.
C like Colour
If you have a mole that has more than one colour, varies between light and dark shades, or shows differently coloured patches, please consult a doctor.
D like Diameter
Any moles with a diameter larger than five to six millimeters or moles that are elevated above the skin should better be examined by a doctor.
E like Evolving
If you notice any change in size, shape, color, or elevation of a spot on your skin, or any new symptom in it, such as bleeding, itching, or crusting, make an appointment with a dermatologist right away.
